When Ellie Laks and Jay Weinter stumbled upon an abandoned week-old baby cow, left in a terrible state. The calf’s own mother had left her to die, and the owners were uncertain whether she would make it.

Despite the calf’s many health issues, the owners decided to give her round-the-clock care and support. There was another furry friend in the house too: Sky, the family dog, who quickly bonded with the cow and became her loyal companion.

As a therapy dog, Sky is used to helping people and animals alike. In this case, he never left the calf’s side, offering support and friendship every step of the way.
With time and care, the calf – now named Lewis – began to recover, with Sky’s companionship playing a key role in her healing. Today, the two remain inseparable friends, despite their size difference.
