Elton John Teams Up with Christie’s for a Special Auction of Items from His Previous Atlanta Residence

Elton John is selling stuff from his old home in Atlanta. The auction is called “The Collection of Sir Elton John: Goodbye Peachtree Road” and will start on Feb. 21 at Christie’s.

Elton John, who is 76 years old, sold his big condo in Atlanta for $7,225,000 last year. He’s auctioning lots of things from his old place, like a special artwork by Damien Hirst, an old costume made by Sandy Powell, and some cool silver boots with the letters E and J on them.

Christie’s is doing eight auctions in total, both online and in person at Rockefeller Center. Each auction will focus on different parts of Elton John’s life and collection.

Tash Perrin from Christie’s said it’s a big deal to work with Elton John on this auction. The auction is expected to make around $10 million. Elton’s Yamaha grand piano might sell for up to $50,000, and a painting of him by Julian Schnabel might go for $300,000.

A public exhibition of the items will be open from Feb. 9-21, and there’s also a pop-up shop selling Elton John’s eyewear, clothes, vinyl, and other stuff during that time.
