Not everyone wants a big house and a huge mortgage. Some people prefer a simpler life with more freedom. One woman achieved this by buying an old RV.
Jessy Muller found a 1978 Dodge Commander on Craigslist for just $1,900. Despite its age and worn-out condition, she saw potential in it. She wanted to give it a new life.

First, she changed the inside. She replaced old camper seating with practical and space-saving furniture. She wanted a cozy and open living space that felt free and simple. By adding a flip table and smart storage solutions, she made the RV a comfortable home with a personal touch.
Years ago, Jessy let “Tiny Home Tours” inside her RV. She kept the original 1978 shag carpet in the driver’s seat, honoring the RV’s history. She created a drop-down bed for extra sleeping space without crowding the living area.

Jessy was clever in managing utilities. She switched old lights to energy-efficient LED fixtures and used a solar power system with golf cart batteries. This not only saved money but also reflected her eco-friendly mindset.
The kitchen got a makeover with a new countertop and sink from Craigslist. When the fridge broke, she quickly found a solution. She added child locks to cabinets, a simple fix for a common RV issue.

In the bathroom, Jessy replaced the old toilet with a composting one and made room for a spacious shower. This change wasn’t just for comfort but also for sustainable living. She used creative solutions like repurposing slats to cover the old toilet area.
The bedroom had significant water damage, so Jessy rebuilt the ceiling and walls. She designed a bed platform with storage underneath. A repurposed vanity added elegance.

Jessy’s year-long journey transforming her RV, which she named Mandor, was about self-discovery and learning. Despite having no experience in carpentry, electrical work, or plumbing, she tackled challenges through mistakes and perseverance.
