🏠💰 Meet Ruby, the savvy schoolgirl who turned her pocket money into a home sweet home at just 8 years old!
Many people envy older generations who could buy a house for very little money, while today it’s really hard to afford one due to high costs and inflation.
But in Australia, a little girl has become a homeowner at just eight years old. Her dad, Cam McLellan, wanted to make sure his kids wouldn’t struggle to buy a home when they grew up.
He taught them to manage money by giving them pocket money each week. His three kids, Angus (14), Lucy (13), and Ruby (8), saved £3,000 each and used it as a deposit for a four-bedroom house. The house’s value went up to £500,000 in just two years.

Their parents helped with the rest of the deposit, and now the house belongs to all of them.
Cam, who works in property investment, believes that in ten years, house deposits will be even higher, making it tough for young people to buy homes without help from their parents.
He wanted to teach his kids about saving early because house prices keep going up due to a shortage of homes in Australia.
Some people criticize Cam and his wife for helping their kids buy a house at a young age, but Cam says they’re not spoiling them—they’re just giving them a good start.

The house is rented out now, making the kids some of the youngest landlords ever. They’re already thinking about buying another house in the future.
Cam plans to sell this house later for a lot of money, which will give his kids a head start in buying their own homes.
