Thanks to volunteers many dogs get the chance to be saved from street life and have a normal life. In May, in Nalchik people found a dog that was so weary, one could hardly spot the Alabai in it. The animal was named Almira and for the sake of her health she had to be moved to Moscow. Such steps were not in vain: Almira has now gained weight and is looking for a new owner.

The dog was named Almira in Nalchik on March 1 – that time she still didn’t look like an Alabai. Femails of this breed weight 40-65kg: Almira was only 30.
Former owners used Almira for breeding and tortured her with constant childbirth.
And when the breeders saw that the dog will no longer bring them profit, they threw her into the streets. People found Almira there.
Volunteers took Almira from the street to save her.
As it was impossible to treat the dog in such a bad state in Nalchik, Almira was taken to Moscow, according to “Kosmomoolskaya Pravda”. She was sick with piroplasmosis, demodectic mange, weighed 30 kilograms, and for blood transfusion doctors had to ask for emergency help from local dog owners.
Thanks to the efforts of doctors and volunteers, Almira went to recovery.
A week later Almira started going for walks, wearing overalls in order not to be cold.
Only Almira didn’t really want to walk. Besides, her health state was still not stable, and the doctors were worried about her condition.
Care, concern and food did their job: Almira gradually felt better and better.
It was getting uncomfortable for Almira to live with 6 other dogs (until now she was living in overexposure). Therefore, now volunteers are looking for a permanent home, where she will be loved and cared about. Currently Almira still has some problems connected to her weight and health, and a vet’s surveillance is needed. In addition, her future owners will need to deal with the behavior of this little “bandit”.
Hope that there will be such a person, and Almira will live a peaceful and happy life.
