The story about the unusual last will of a wealthy man

In 1902, in Berlin a very rich man passed away named Pfeiffer. He had always suspected his relatives in self-interest, so he wrote a pretty original will. According to his last will, anyone that would not follow the coffin, would receive 300 marks. The rest of his heritage he shared among the people whose names were in a special list. But he ordered the list to be announced after his funeral.

In the end, it turned out, that in this document Pfeiffer mentioned the following: his fortune was divided among those people, who refused to receive the 300 marks and followed the coffin. But, in fact, it wasn’t necessary. And the reason is that the only contender for the deceased’s fortune was an old lady. She was a distant relative of Pfeiffer.

That’s how the relatives of this wealthy man failed the test and received a well-desearved punishment.
