“…We really like to be different and we are happy with our unique beauty!”
Now there are absolutely new beauty standards in the fashion world. Models should have an unusual appearance and their own “charm”.
Lara and Mara Bavar are just such models. At the age of 11, they have already become quite popular.

The girls live in Brazil and their parents are dark-skinned. The girls look like none of their parents. They are light-skinned, with white hair and blue eyes. They are albinos. It was thanks to this feature that they were invited to the Vinicius Terranova photo project – “Flores Raras” (translated from Portuguese as “Rare flowers”).

“The purpose of my art is to demonstrate beauty in all its diversity for empowerment”, said the photographer about his project.

Also in the family there is an older daughter, Sheila, she has a dark color of skin. Sheila took part in the photo project together with her sisters.

Girls have become very popular.
They have already collaborated with such brands as Nike, Insanis and Bazaar Kids.

Lara and Mara love their appearance very much and have never been ashamed of it. They feel confident. “We think albinism is beautiful, we love our hair, eye color and skin tone,” Lara said in an interview with Brazilian media. Although they often have to explain that they are dark-skinned albinos, as many people do not understand what it is and are often mistaken. For example, at school, some children were afraid to even touch the girls, so as not to suddenly get the “strange white disease”.
“We had to explain for a long time that we were not contagious, but the disease is genetic. Sometimes, such questions happen to be very annoying, but we still explain everything in detail”.

“Being like us is amazing! We really like to be different and we are happy with our unique beauty,” added Mara.

The sisters have their own Instagram account, and they already have more than 6,000 followers, and the number is growing every day. The girls believe that people need to have as much information about albinism as possible, as well as ensure the integration of people with this disease into society. This is exactly what they want to do with the help of social networks.
