Volunteer changed the dog’s life walking him every day

He deserved a loving family and finally found one

Doug Sears is a volunteer in an animal shelter. He had vowed, that he would help Caesar – a dog in the shelter – to find a loving family. And he kept his promise!

The dog arrived at the shelter in Ohio, in 2016. He was sick, and now is able to start a new life thanks to Doug. The man walks Caesar every single day.

And last weekend, amazing news spread on the Internet: Caesar has finally found a loving family after spending 5 long years in the shelter. As expected, Doug Sears has played a great role in this.

Doug works near the shelter, and has been volunteering there for many years 5 days a week. He walks the dogs of the shelter at his lunch break. There are always 1 and more dogs under his care at noon. He takes them out for an hour then brings them back.

Although there are other dogs that he walks, a strong bond was created between him and Caesar. He vowed to help the dog start a new happy life after learning about his difficult past. The dog was suffering from heartworm, had no hair and was covered in sores when he arrived at the shelter.

“Caesar needed a loving permanent family to recover”.

The manager of the Animal Charity of Ohio – Jane Macmurchy – explained, that the costs of adoption of those dogs, that have difficulties with finding a family, are covered by sponsors. These are usually the dogs with certain issues, such as health problems, proper interaction with other animals and children, etc. Caesar also fell into this group.
