In 2020, Charmaine told her parents that she was pregnant. The girl was 16 years old, and the future baby’s father was her boyfriend of 2 years.
After learning the news, the couple had no intention to argue with their daughter and her boyfriend. The fact is, that Jenny (Charmaine’s mother) herself became a mother at a very young age (17). All her friends and family had left her alone and she had no one but her husband to support her. So the woman didn’t want her daughter suffer the way she had suffered.
“I know how difficult it was for my daughter to tell us the truth. I calmed her down, saying that it was her decision and no matter what her parents will always support her. Charmaine matured very quickly, as she was preparing to become a mother”, Jenny Medlam says.
In Summer, 2021, the young woman gave birth to a healthy child. They named the baby Isla Mae. The grandparents are happy for their daughter. according to them, Isla looks just like her mother at that age.
Today, Jenny is 34 years old, and Richard is 35.
Strangers sometimes think that the newborn is Jenny’s baby.
“Whenever we are out with our granddaughter, people think she is our child. It is really difficult to explain that she is, in fact, our granddaughter. Some people think we are kidding!”.
