“I felt like home and realized that it was him!”
The talented spouses first met each other on the set of the film Lemon Sky in 1987. As Kevin Bacon mentioned, it was love at first sight. “I thought she was amazing!”.
At that time Kevin was already quite famous thanks to his role in the 1984 film Footloose as rebel Ren. Sendgwick, on the other hand, hadn’t watched the film yet and was put off byt the handsome appearance and manners of the young star. “I was thinking, ‘Oh, he thinks he is so cool!’ “.
At first, Kyra rejected Kevin several times. But after a while, she finally agreed to a date. They had a noce dinner together, talking and laughing sincerely. But Kyra later confessed that only the next day she realized he really was the one! “I felt like home, and realized that it was him!”, says Kyra.
The spouses have been together for more than 30 years. They managed to build a strong and happy family together, raising two children – son Travis (33) and daughter Sosie (31).
Sedgwick has recently released a film, where she also directed Bacon. The drama Space Oddity is about a man who dreams of excaping to Mars after a tragic accident. In 2010, Sedgwick won an Emmy for her TV series The Closer. And now she plans to go forward in this career.
Kyra pointed out that sense of humor has been one of the key ingredients of their long and happy marriage.
Bacon says he has never seen his wife happier than when she is behind the cameras. “She adores directing!”. But the spouses are not always snowed under with work. They enjoy spending their free time together somewhere peaceful.
