Real heroes do exist!
In a two-storey building a flat caught fire at 7 a.m. in Traktorozavodsky Rayon, Volgograd. Smoke was coming out of the windows, and there were people gathering in front of the house. One of the witnesses called 911. Nikita Gladkikh was also there. He’s only 19 years old, and managed to do a heroic deed!
Today, we would like to tell the story about this fearless guy, and let’s share it, so that more people will learn about him!
The guy came to visit his grandmother, and while she wasn’t home, he decided to wait for her outside. “I was the first to see that the flat was in fire. The neighbor said there were children inside. There was no time to think up a plan or something. I entered the building, there was a lot of smoke. For me, kids are very important! I broke the doors, and literally tripped over a child. He was lying there, unconscious. Apparently, the kid tried to get out of the flat, but lost consciousness. I took him outside”.
The child no longer showed any signs of life. But fortunately, at that moment 37-year-old Sergey Mikhailov came to help. He resuscitated the boy. “I live in the house across the street and was doing repairs on the balcony. I looked ahead and saw a fire. So I rushed there in what I was wearing. As soon as I ran up, the baby was already out of the fire. I took him and tried to resuscitate, pressed on his chest several times. He coughed and started to breathe”, remembers Sergey. It needs to be mentioned, that the man was doing cardiac massage for the first time.
When he saw that the boy was already breathing, he left him under the care of the witnesses. The child had minor burns and there was plastic melted in his hair. The witnesses said, there should be 2 children in the family. Therefore, Nikita and Sergey immediately tore a towel to breathe through it and hastily entered the burning flat. “Visibility was only 20cm. The phone flashlight was of no use in that thick smoke. We checked all the rooms, but couldn’t find the second one. Turned out, he was at his relative’s”, clarified Nikita. At that moment, firefighters and ambulance arrived. Turned out, drunk grandparents were in the burning flat. Their grandson was taken to hospital, and the heroes were promised to be rewarded.
