Dog saved over 100 koalas from wildfires in Australia

We have all heard about the disastrous wildfires in Australia from September 2019 to March 2020. They have greatly affected the fauna and flora of the whole country. The most severe fires were in New South Wales.

These fires also brought out a climate crisis in Australia. Natural disasters, such as fires or floods, have deprived farmers of their livings, causing millions of dollars worth damage.

Not only people, but animals also suffered great injuries. A great part couldn’t even survive.

The hardest wit were koalas, living in the wild. Over 60,000 koalas suffered this disaster. However, thanks to volunteers, firefighters an this particular dog, many of them were saved.

Meet Bear, the dog that rescued over 100 koalas during the black summer bushfires in Australia 2019-2020. Bear is the only dog in Australia trained to find koalas by their smell.
