Rainbow village in Taiwan
How would you try to save your hometown if it was on verge of destruction?

Local authorities had made a decision to demolish all the old houses in this village. However, one of its elderly residents did not want to let this happen. This 94-year -old Taiwanese man came up with an incredible idea hold the authorities back from their decision. He decided to paint the whole village.
Juan Young Fu, born in the 1920s, moved to Taiwan 40 years ago. He received a house in one of the small Taiwanese villages.

As soon as the village residents found out that the village was going to be demolished and they were to receive monetary compensation, everyone took the money and left. Juan Young Fu, on the other hand, never wanted to give up and decided not to leave. at some point, he was left alone in the village.
The man was bored and one day went out and started painting the walls of his house. Over time her added more and more patterns to the walls. Juan had found himself a great hobby.

A passer-by once took a photo of the walls and shared it online. The photos immediately stroke the eyes of art enthusiasts and activists. They even got interested in the village’s problem.
This led to the growth in tourism inside the small village. Now it is considered one of the most interesting and beautiful attractions of Taiwan.

Visitors named the village Rainbow, after all, it is really colorful and beautiful. The village has over a a million tourists annually.
