“Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach Tie the Knot After 12 Years of Dating”: A Love Story of Creativity and Collaboration

Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach got married at New York City Hall, according to a representative for Greta. They first met while making the movie Greenberg in 2010 and started dating in 2011. The couple, who co-wrote the Barbie screenplay, welcomed their second son earlier this year. Greta talked about the joy of being a parent, saying, “The little guy is sleeping through the night, but I still wake up often to check on him.” Their first son, Harold, was born in March 2019.

Noah, 54, and Greta, 40, have a strong creative partnership. They both received Oscar nominations in 2020, with Noah nominated for Marriage Story and Greta for Little Women, a movie she directed.

They enjoy working together, and Noah mentioned, “I feel like I write better because I want to impress her when we write together.” At the 2020 Academy Awards, Noah expressed how Greta has made him a “better person and a better writer.”

Even though Noah initially hesitated to work on Barbie, he later admitted it turned out to be the “best thing we’ve ever written.” He trusts Greta’s instincts and acknowledges that following her lead has been a key factor in their successful collaborations.
